Under the theme of “eternal youth” (bullojangsaeng), the 17th Seogwipo Chilsimni Festival will be held from Oct. 1 to Oct. 3. Events all around Seogwipo Chilsimni Poetry Park and Saeyeon Bridge, which overlook the beautiful vista of Seogwipo port, are set to delight everyone.
Of the many programs on tap this weekend are a street parade, street basketball, a “Mr. Chilsimni” bodybuilding contest, singing and photography contests, and more.
The Chilsimni street parade will start at Seogwipo Jungang Elementary school, pass through Dongmoon Rotary and finish up at the festival grounds.
This year the festival will feature new programs like a trekking zone, healing zone, and beauty zone, in the spirit of a festival promoting healthy lifestyles.
Seogwipo City Hall has also invited representatives from four exchange cities at home and abroad, to promote this festival. According to the city officials, a total of 13 representatives will attend the festival from Choelwon, Anyang, Karatsu in Japan, and Hangzhou in China.
