Forward firepower needed to kick start United's campaign

Jeju’s indifferent season has continued with the team taking just 2 points from the last 3 games. They began with the archetypal Jeju performance, a pulsating 3 all draw in which Jeju managed to snatch a draw from the jaws of victory. Daejon were 1-0 and 2-1 before two second half Jeju goals saw them seemingly heading towards what would have been a well-earned and very useful win until an extremely soft 83rd minute header from Ho Lee ruined it all.

This was not ideal preparation for the visit of last season’s nemesis, league champions, and current form team FC Seoul. Things went according to script, unfortunately, and Jeju limped to a 3-nil defeat. United though had much possession and were in the game for large swathes of the match, but completely lacked any kind of cutting edge. Seoul scored their last two goals whilst Jeju were chasing the game, which gave the score line a gloss that Seoul probably didn’t deserve.

The big (literally) difference between the teams was hulking Bosnian forward Dejan Damjanović, who caused the Jeju backline constant problems. This was something that Jeju singularly failed to do in return. It’s clear that the team desperately need an out and out striker to stretch opposition’s backlines and allow our skillful and creative midfielders room to maneuver. So if you are a big Bosnian (any part of the former Yugoslavia is fine to be honest) center forward then give Park Kyung Hoon a ring — he could use you.

Jeju ‘s most recent game was another draw in which instead of throwing away a lead they came back from 2-0 down to claim a point which I guess is better, at least psychologically. All this leaves Jeju sitting in 7th place, one off a playoff position yet still only one point away from fourth place. A place in the playoffs is still easily achievable but to make it happen Jeju have to kick-start a stuttering campaign now.  <Jeju Weekly>
